The order of the matrix emphasizes differences among the gospels and refers to identical verses merely by the notation of chapter and verse. Where you see a chapter and verse cited without the saying, etc., assume that it is identical to the verse in the left hand column which is mostly Matthew's Gospel.
The Matrix shows how Matthew embellished, as it were, Mark's gospel and Luke followed Matthew and Mark, noting differences in chronology and also correcting Matthew. In Matthew the man with the withered arm, for instance, Luke shows is a man whose right arm is withered. So Luke elaborates where he thought appropriate. I have high-lighted texts which Matthew should have been following in Mark but did not pick up from Mark; likewise do we see details in Luke which he omits though presumably following Matthew and Mark.
In the matrix we also see how Luke remembers two beatitude scenes as to Matthew's remembrance of the Sermon on the Mount (but we see also in Matthew a reminder by Jesus how he had fed the 5,000 and then the 4,000 with fishes and loaves).

Jesus took bread & blessed and broke it, saying eat it, this is my body
drank from the cup and passed it, saying, This is my blood for the New Testament shed for the remission of sins
I will not drink of the vine henceforth until I drink it new with you in my Father's Kingdom Sung a hymn and then went out to the Mt. of Olives: Ye shall be offended in me this night, as prophesied, smite the Shepherd and the sheep shall be scattered abroad But after I am risen again, I will go before you in Galilee
Peter answered and said unto him, though all men shall be offended of thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said, Verily thou before the cock crow shall deny me 3 times
Then Jesus came to Gethsemane & told his disciples to sit down while I pray Took Peter and two sons of Zebedee
Jesus prayed in the garden
Father, let this cup pass from me
finds disciples asleep
Says to Peter, could you not watch one hour?
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak Went away again and prayed ..except this cup pass away fromme Again came back and found them asleep Went away for the 3rd time, saying the same words Then cometh he to his disciples saying, sleep on now; behold the hour is at hand & the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise up; let's go. Behold, he is at hand that doth betray me. Judas came, while he soke, with a great multitude from the chief priests and the elders Betrayed by sign of a kiss
One with Jesus drew a sword and struck off the high priest's servant's ear Then Jesus said unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish by the sword Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than 12 legions of angels? How then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? In that same hour Jesus said to the multitude, Are ye come out after a thief? I sat daily with you in the temple and ye laid no hold on me. All this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled
Jesus was then led away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and elders were assembled
But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in and sat with the servants, to see the end.
Now Peter sat without the palace
and a damsel came unto him, saying Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee
But he denied before them all, saying I know not what thou sayest.
and when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. And after awhile came unto him them that stod by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them;
for thy speech betrayeth thee.
Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Judas hanged himself
..Priests, etc. sought false witness against Jesus to put him to death But found none though many false witnesses came Finally two false witnesses came
and said, This fellow said I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.
And the high priest arose, said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? What is it which these witness against thee? But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy. What further need have we of witnesses? Behold now ye heard his blasphemy. What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. Then did they spit in his face and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands. Saying prophesy unto us, thou Christ Who is he that smote thee? And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. [in the mean time] Judas repented and returned the 30 pieces of silver and cast the money in the temple and hanged himself. The chief priests said that the blood money is not lawful for the temple; They bought the Potter's Field for to bury strangers; Called the Field of blood unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet [was really Zechariah Ch. 11.12-13] saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value And gave them for the Potter's Field as the Lord appointed me.
And the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, |

22.19 ..and he took bread, and gave thanks and broke it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you. This do in remembrance of me. 22.17 He took a cup & gave thanks and said, Take this and divide it among yourselves 22.20 Likewise also the cup, after supper, saying this cup is the New Testament in my blood which is shed for you 22.18 for I say I will not drink of the fruuit of the vine until the Kingdom of God shall come
22.31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat 22.32 But I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not: and when thou are converted strengthen thy brethren 22.33 And he said unto him, Lord I am ready to go with thee, both into prison and to death 22.34 ..the cock shall not crow this day before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me. 22.36 And he said unto them, when I sent you without pure and scrip and shoes lacked ye anything? The said, "nothing". 22.36 Then he said, But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. 22.37 For I say unto you that that which is written must yet be accomplished in me, "and he was reckoned among the transgressors" for the things concerning me have an end 22.38 and they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords and he said it is enough
22.40 And when he was at the place he said unto them, pray that ye enter not into temptation.
22.41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast and kneeled down to pray 22.42 Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me, etc. 22.45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow
22.46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. 22.43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him 22.44 and being in agony prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground
22.48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of Man with a kiss? 22.49..they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? 22.60 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. 22.51 And Jesus answered and said, suffer ye thus far. Andhe touched his ear and healed him.
22.54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house.
22.54 And Peter followed them afar off
22.55 and when they had kindled a fire midst a great hall, and were sat down together, Peter sad down among them (in the Praetorium)
22.56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
22.57 And he denied him, saying Woman, I know him not.
22.58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, thou art also of them. 22.58 And Peter said, Man I am not.. 22.59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
22.60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
22.61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord. 26.62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly. 26.63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him. 26.64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy who is it that smote thee? 22.65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him. 22.66 As soon as it was day the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes came together and led him into their council saying:
22.67 Art thou the Christ? Tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: 22.68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
22.69 Hereafter shall the Son of Man sit on the right hand of the power of God. 22.70 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, ye say that I am.
22.71 And they said, What need we any further witness? For we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
23.1 And the whole multitude of them arose and led him unto Pilate.
23.3 And Pilate asked, Art thou the King of the Jews? |
13.13 Now no man..knew for what intent he spake this unto him [Judas]..because Judas had thebag..that Jesus had said unto him, But those things, etc. 13.13 Ye call me Master & Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 13.14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have wshed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's. 13.15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 13.16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 13.18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, he that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heal against me [Psalm 41.9]. 13.33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. 13.34 A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 13.35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for one another. 13.36 Peter said unto him, Lord whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards. 13.37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
13.38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice. 14.2 In my Father's house are many mansions, etc. [See the Book of Enoch for the Scriptural reference on the "Many Mansions, some for the good, some for the evil"] 14.6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 14.7 If ye had known me, ye should have nown my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 14.8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, sheew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 14.9-27 Teachings on how Jesus came to do the will and work of the Father; promises to pray the Father to send another comforter ..who will teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 14.28..for my Father is greater than I 14.31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do... 15.1 I am the true vine and my Father is the busbandman, etc. 15.12 This is my commandment, Taht ye love one another, as I have loved you. 15.13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 15.14 ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15.16..whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 15.20 ..if they have persecuted me they will also persecute you.. 15.21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. 16.2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God a service. 16.7ff More teachings on the Comforter. 16.25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time shall come when I shall no more speak in parable but show you plainly of the Father. 16.26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 16.31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? 16.32 Behold, the hour cometh, yet is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 17.1 These words spake Jesus and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father the hour is come: florify thy Son, that thy Son alsom may glorify thee...[and prayed]: 17.15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from evil. 17.18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 17.21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 17.26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hst loved me may be in them, and I in them. 18.1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. 18.3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. 18.7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said Jesus of Nazareth. 18.8 Jesus answered, I have told ye that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way. 18.10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. 18.11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath. The cup which my Father hath give me, shall I not drink it? 18.12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus and bound him. 18.13 And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year. 18.14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people. 18.15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple; that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. 18.16 But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. 18.17 Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples. He saith I am not. 18.18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself. 18.19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine. 18.21 Why askest thou me? Ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said. 18.22 And when he had thus spoke one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou, the high priest so? 18.23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me? 18.24 Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest. 18.25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? he denied it and said I am not. 18.26 One of the servants of the high priest , being his kinsman [Malchus] whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him? 18.27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
18.28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the Passover. 18.29 Pilate then went out unto them and said, what accusation bring ye against this man. 18.30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor we would not have delivered him up unto thee. 18.31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: 18.32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die. 18.33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus and said unto him
18.33 Art thou the King of the Jews? |
